I’m by no means a video editor, but I did create this little teaser for one of my talks turned podcasts that I’ve started writing into a book. It’s called How to Make Money Doing What You Love and it’s a back-story on how I got into the worlds of video game testing, social media management and how you can follow your dreams to the bank, like I did.
You can check out the video teaser here:
I started giving this talk at University of Toronto back in 2012 and have since spoken to almost 1,000 high school, college and university students about how they can be proactive with their time online. Teachers love it because it refocuses efforts and curbs negative chatter such as bullying, which has been such a focal point of online as of late.
Students like it because it’s light, punchy, relevant to their world but mostly, because it gets them out of class.
The video is merely a quick introduction to what I did, how I did it and it’s meant to whet your appetite (to the point you’ll actually share it!) using funny internet memes and pictures of cute animals.
I appreciate those of you who have spread the video; if you know a principal/teacher/student who may be interested, please let me know. Every time I get to talk to students, I get the basis of a new topic or chapter in my book.
On a personal note, thank you to everyone who has supported me over the past 6 weeks as I recover from ACL Reconstruction surgery! It hasn’t been easy but I’m walking, stretching and this week returning to the world of social media management full-time!
