Salt Stain on the Wound
Presentation Activity:
Take a mundane slide and turn it into the strong point of your presentation:
Here are four ways you can take the most boring slide of your presentation and turn it into an opportunity to engage your audience.
A picture is worth a thousand words - Consider reworking the slide to feature a picture and instead speaking to your points, rather than displaying them
Information overload - Have a slide that’s too information dense? Remember the “rule of three” - people can remember THREE pieces of information really well, so what are your top three takeaways from this slide?
Rules of engagement - Ask yourself how you can involve the audience by asking them questions:
If you sense audience members may be hesitant to speak, poll them using multiple choice or "by a show of hands"
LOL - The use of humour can lighten the mood and build a good rapport with your audience
And remember! Eye contact can help establish your stage presence and effectively deliver your point; the presentation will feel more intimate as if you are having a direct conversation
